  • sticks (170g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (175g) brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs + 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup (96g) all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup (25g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: ½ cup nuts (e.g., walnuts or pecans)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Melt and Mix:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips until smooth. Mix in brown sugar, followed by the eggs, egg yolk, and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients:
