  • ¾ cup ( sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • ⅔ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 11 oz Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • 1- Prepare Dry Ingredients:
    • Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl; set aside.
  • 2- Cream Butter and Sugars:
    • Beat softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • 3- Add Wet Ingredients:
    • Mix in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until combined.
  • 4- Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures:
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • 5- Fold in Chocolate Chips:
    • Gently fold the Ghirardelli chocolate chips into the dough.
  • 6- Shape and Bake:
    • Scoop 2-inch dough balls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 375°F for 9–10 minutes or until edges are golden.

Notes

  • For chewy centers, slightly underbake the cookies.
  • Refrigerate dough for 2 hours to enhance flavor and prevent spreading.
